Long Island Product Photography

I just completed a challenging and rewarding assignment for a Long Island based company called Value Eye Care Network, who operate www.39dollarglasses.com . The trick with eyeglass frames is that almost all of the surfaces are reflective, so a diligent approach is needed to account for that factor. Essentially, once the basic exposure is set, you have to tell your brain to ignore the object itself – and only ‘see’ the reflections as you set up scrims to deal with them. It doesn’t hurt to read, and re-read books like this fav of mine, too. Check out 39dollarglasses.com when you get a chance – as an eyeglass wearer myself, I can attest that the frames are no different than any high-end set on your noggin’ right now, and the two gents that run the site are indeed eye doctors – and cool ones, too. Just do me a favor – if you order any of the ones I just photographed, don’t return them saying the color didn’t look the same in person! 😉
